Thinking Out Loud: Lawyers and psychologists take on the Bush Administration

My friend Gail Jonas sparked my remarks this Mothers Day. She writes on how we've strayed from our tradition of a just society and laments for the mothers whose children are held without charges or recourse -- the habeas "corpses" -- here.

It is with profound sadness that I see and feel how far down the rode to tyranny we've come in recent years. Pre-emptive war, warrantless wiretaps, and detention without charge, to name a few. But we can begin again, today, to exercise our parental role by expressing our disapproval to our errant child and guiding our progeny back toward the real values to which we aspire.
